“Make Prayer Your First Choice Rather Than your Last Chance”

Hey U-nity,

Pray First. Before any action is taken and preferably before thinking develops, pray. Pray, Pray, Pray!

That doesn’t mean to ask God for stuff. That is not a truly effective prayer method. If it were, we would all be amazing manifesters. Prayer means “conscious communion with God, or what God is.” What is God? God is Presence itself, Power Itself, Intelligence itself, Love itself, Wisdom itself. To pray is to be in conscious communion with what IS. When we do that, we then KNOW the next right thing to think, the next right thing to say and the next right thing to do.

To pray is to center oneself and consciously connect with the Truth and Wisdom that IS. Sometimes we need to do it very quickly if we are in the midst of conflict. When I’m there in the midst of confusion I often get quiet (Even though I’m having a conversation with someone, I’m not getting quiet for long, just long enough for an easy breath and to go within and ask, “Spirit, what is the Truth here? What is the correct response here?”) I always get the answer I need for resolution, even though it might not be comfortable in the short run, it’s always for peace in the long run.

Pray, offering yourself over for peace and joy before checking your phone or email in the morning. Do the same throughout the day and, of course, at bedtime.

Don’t wait for conflict to come up before remembering to pray. Let prayer be your first choice in all things.
