In this video we visit the Ramsden Street level crossing, situated adjacent to Clifton Hill station in Melbourne's inner northern suburbs. The crossing has a couple on unique features; it's the only level crossing that is shared by both the Hurstbridge and Mernda lines. It's also one of the few remaining level crossings in Melbourne to feature a Barker Technics' E-Bell; which was the first type of E-Bell used on Melbourne's level crossings in the early 1990's. The equipment at this crossing in general is fairly old; still using incandescent lighting, and has a preserved signal box and crossing gates which is nice. Here we just see some Metro Trains Melbourne X'trapolis 100 EMU's passing through.
