Diplomacy Matters: California Leading the Way

Описание: On February 17, 2021, Global Ties San Francisco and World Trade Center Northern California [Note: WTCNC's Sacramento-based diplomacy arm is now known as Global Ties Sacramento] co-hosted the webinar "Diplomacy Matters: California Leading the Way" featuring three esteemed panelists: Lieutenant Governor of California Eleni Kounalakis, Consul General to Mexico in Sacramento Liliana Ferrer, and California Chamber of Commerce Vice President of International Affairs Susanne Stirling. The session was moderated by distinguished President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Ties U.S. Katherine Brown, Ph.D.

California is the fifth largest economy in the world and is considered a worldwide leader in international trade, policy, innovation, and cultural trends. This insightful panel discussion examined the role diplomacy plays in California's prominent position on the world stage; the important international relationships that contribute to the state's success; and how the state can continue to influence policy and maintain its global impact.

This year, World Trade Center Northern California (WTCNC) is celebrating 25 years of working to create a vibrant economy by supporting international trade and improving global fluency throughout Northern California. In partnership with our division, Global Ties San Francisco, we coordinate professional international exchanges, bringing people together from around the world to share ideas, learn from each other, and form important connections. We are honored to facilitate the U.S. Department of State's premier professional exchange program, the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), collectively hosting nearly 1,000 international visitors annually.
