The fires of the furnaces of the American Colonies kindled the Industry of the soon to be nation. These bases of skilled labor converted raw resources into a usable product that kickstarted the economic powerhouse that the US would one day become, and there yet stands a tribute to this early days tucked away in the woods of South East Pennsylvania. Hopewell Furnace is not the only site like this that had existed in the days of the Revolution. So why was this place saved?
