NZ has the best pies in the world! Mince & Cheese Pie recipe

Описание: Today, we're diving into the delicious world of New Zealand's iconic meat pies. Known globally for their rich flavors and hearty fillings, NZ pies are a true culinary treasure. In this video, I’ll be sharing my take on the classic Mince & Cheese Pie, a favorite among Kiwis and a must-try for any pie lover! I highly encourage you to make this recipe but be warned. Once you start, it's almost impossible to stop!

Mince & cheese pie recipe

Measurements; 6 pies
600g mince
1 onion
1/2 carrot
Minced garlic/garlic powder (preference)
2tbs thyme
1tbs rosemary
1tbs chicken stock powder
1tbs smoked paprika
1tbs salt
1tbs black pepper
1tsp chill powder
250-300mls chicken stock / water
1tsp Marmite/Vegemite
2tbs cornstarch slurry to thicken
Flaky puff pastry

Method;
Blitz onion + carrot
Fry in 3-4tbs oil
Add seasonings
Cook 5mins med heat & scrape fond off pan
Deglaze w/ stock/water
Add slurry & heat low until thick
Transfer to bowl & chill until cold
Place defrosted puff pastry in pie tins
Add chilled filling & cover with puff
Fan bake 200c 22-25mins (depending on oven)
Enjoy heaven
