Hello there everyone. Today I'm basically playing devil's advocate on the issue of "does leveling up your breeding dragons matter when trying to breed legendary or rarer dragons?".

My answer to this questions will always be an affirmative 'YES' as the breeding den in game even tells us that it does. The real issue comes down to whether the food wasted on leveling up dragons is worth it for the increase in odds.

My answer to this question will also be 'YES' and the reason for this is that why would you not increase your odds of getting a dragon you want?!?! We know the odds increase and if you're trying to breed a limited-time dragon then you don't want to hinder yourself because the dragon may not become available again either ever or for a very long period of time!

If you want to breed the dragon of the week/dragon of the month you SHOULD use dragons well above level 4!

Also to put it in perspective, if you increase your odds by 5% by leveling up your dragons to level 20 then you have increased your odds of breeding legendaries by 200-250% in some cases! Again, we don't know exactly what the percentage increase actually is but what if it really does make that much difference? It's not worth not doing it just to save a little food.

If you want to know how to breed legendary dragons in Dragon Mania Legends then the only advice I can give is to choose a good breeding pair and level up your breeding dragons for those increased odds. If you don't have the food to do that then fine! But almost everyone can afford to at least level up their breeding pair to level 10 so most do anyway! That's still a higher level than level 4!
