Jasper Jordan | "We will be happy again"

Описание: (This is gonna be a very long description because I really love Jasper and Devon's portrayal of him, so please bear with me)
I've always liked Jasper, but this season he has swiftly become one of my favourite characters on the show. He has been through so much and had to deal with so much, but I truly believe that he'll come out stronger after all of this. I really wanted to vid Jasper this season and seeing all the hate directed towards him has only made me want to make more tributes for him. This is just a short tribute that focusses on his decision to take the chip, but I promise more videos are coming.

Both Devon and Jasper are so underrated and they deserve much more praise. Devon's portrayal of Jasper's struggles was brilliant this season (and the previous two seasons as well, but he really blew my mind in s3). He did an amazing job showing Jasper's PTSD and his journey in trying to overcome it. He really deserves a lot more praise than what he's gotten so far, and he certainly does not deserve any of the hate directed at Jasper. So thank you, Devon, for portraying Jasper so perfectly.

As for the video, I decided to mostly focuss on Jasper's decision of taking the chip and how everything that had happened to him previously played into that. I see so many people saying that his decision undermines his arc this season and that it was ooc, and I just really don't understand those people. Yes, Jasper had come very far at that point. But as I tried to show in this video through parallels, everything that happened at Mount Weather (the safety being taken away, losing someone you care about, ruining the lives of people that took you in) happened again at Luna's rig. I truly believe that Jasper must've felt that he and the others were just bringers of death at that point, and that there was no point in struggling to survive and avoid ALIE anymore. It was too much to bear for him, after everything that had happened since he got speared by a Grounder. And can you really blame him?

I promise I'm almost done, but I still wanted to get this off my chest. This season was so stressful to watch for me as a Jasper fan, since I knew from the very beginning that he was going to die. I keep up with spoilers for this show and I knew what had been filmed in Vancouver, so I knew Jason had given a goodbye speech for Devon. When I saw Devon's tweet before the finale and heard about the alternative endings, I had a little hope that Jasper might make it, but it was still the most stressed I've ever been watching a finale. I was so sure Jasper was going to kill himself in that last scene that I wasn't able to breathe until he smiled and it cut to Bellamy and Clarke. I was so relieved. I'm really, really glad they didn't go for the other, much worse ending for the finale, and I hope Jasper finally gets to find some happiness next season. I really wanna see his smile more often.
