How to make LED Vu meter using resistor and diode. (passive)

Описание: VU Meter (Volt Unit Meter) is a circuit that displaying the signal level on audio equipment. This VU meter only using LED, resistor and diode, without IC or zeneur.
List component:
Resistor 1K
And diode 1 ampere
Led 5mm

This led vu meter is passive. There is no amplifier circuit in it. Does not require a power supply.
So connected to the output of the amplifier, led vu meter is already on.
