The undergraduate admission process for Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU) for the 2026–2027 academic year has officially begun. The application portal opened on May 15, 2026.

The essential timelines, eligibility criteria, and application details are outlined below.

Available Courses & Eligibility

TNJFU offers several professional and vocational degree programs. Admission for undergraduate courses is purely merit-based (based on your 12th / HSC marks); there is no entrance exam.

Age Limit: Maximum 21 years as of July 1, 2026, for General/OBC candidates. There is no age limit for SC/SCA/ST candidates or for B.Voc. courses

B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) 4 Years Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (with Maths or any elective), or Botany & Zoology. (5% of seats reserved for Vocational Stream)

B.Tech. (Biotechnology) 4 Years Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (with Maths or any elective), or Botany & Zoology.

B.Tech. (Fisheries Engineering) 4 Years Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (with Biology or Computer Science/IT).

B.Tech. (Food Technology) 4 Years Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (with Biology or Computer Science/IT).

B.B.A. (Fisheries Business Management) 3 Years Any stream in HSC. Aggregate of all subjects is considered.

B.Voc. (Aquaculture / Food Processing / Industrial Fishing) 3 Years Any stream in HSC. No age limit.

Application Fee & Process
The selection process includes a document review followed by the publication of a merit rank list and subsequent online counseling rounds.

General / BC / BCM / MBC / DNC: ₹700
SC / SCA / ST: ₹350

How to Apply
Head over to the official portal at admission.tnjfu.ac.in.
Register using a valid mobile number and email ID.
Fill in your personal details, academic scores, and select your course preferences.
Upload necessary documents (10th/12th mark sheets, Community Certificate, Transfer Certificate, and Nativity Certificate if applicable).
Pay the application fee online and submit your application. Be sure to download a copy for your records.
