This thokku is a side dish prepared using tomato and onions as a primary ingredient along with the south Indian typical masala powders such as chilli powder, coriander powder etc..Peanut butter is added to enhance the flavors which brings out a very nice taste.This delicious dip/thokku goes very well with idly,dosa,roti and rice. ➡️INGREDIENTS:
Onions chopped 2
Tomatoes chopped 2
Oil as required
Curry leaves few
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Salt as required
Peanut butter 2 tbsps
water
Coriander leaves for garnishing
➡️METHOD:
1. Heat oil in a pan over a medium flame.
2. Add finely chopped onions, saute till onions become translucent.
3. Next add few curry leaves and ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell of ginger garlic paste goes.
4. Then add chopped tomatoes and saute it for 2 minutes. Cover the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
5. Add chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder and salt as per your taste.
Then mix all together.
6. Now add the peanut butter to this and saute well. Close and cook till the oil oozes out.
7. Add half cup of water to make it as a gravy. Let it boil .
8. Our peanut butter gravy is ready , serve it with hot dosa ,chapathi or rice.
