In this video Andrew Robertshaw talks about a day in the life of a British soldier at Ypres, January 1917.
One of the UK’s most exciting military historians, Andrew Robertshaw reveals what life was like on the frontline of history. A world-renowned expert on the First World War, trench warfare and medicine in the trenches, in particular. His most recent, and possibly the most ambitious project to date, is setting up the Centre for Experimental Military Archaeology (CEMA) at the Kent County Showground at Detling, near Maidstone, Kent, which features a replica First World War trench. Andy is also a military adviser on big-screen films like War Horse, 1917 and Lee.
