On Saturday 27-year-old Mohammad Anas a resident of Sant Kabir Nagar climbed onto the roof of the moving Kashi Vishwanath Express near Maa Belha Devi Dham railway station in Pratapgarh. He walked across four compartments under high-voltage wires for about 700 meters.
Passengers recorded videos and tried to stop him but he refused. Railway officials cut off the power supply and stopped the train. After around 40 minutes, a GRP constable managed to bring him down safely at 5:10 PM.
The incident caused a 40 minute disruption on the Prayagraj Lucknow route, halting six trains. GRP stated that Anas is mentally disturbed and often wanders near the station.
