Sugar is your friend 🙌🏼
I know you probably haven’t heard this before but refined sugar of any type is not making you overweight or sick. You firstly need to understand what sugar actually is. Refined sugar or sucrose/table sugar is just a molecule of glucose joined to a molecule of fructose. They are simply monosaccharides and these simple sugars are the number 1 fuel sources for the body. They are easily utilised by the body.
As a fruit-based nutritionist I would never put sugar above whole fruit, however, refined sugars are identical to the sugar found in whole foods like fruit but have been extracted from the other macro and micronutrients.
White sugar is not bleached it is just made up of pure sucrose crystals that are actually clear but looks white when in a bag of sugar. White sugar is not even high GI so does not “spike blood sugar” - this is a lie. Excess fat in the bloodstream is the reason. I’ve been eating unbridled amounts of refined sugar in my diet since around 2012 and only experienced fantastic slimming results. Fruit is always queen but the irrational fear of sugar needs to stop!
