Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer - Solo Grandmaster Nightfall Completion No Cheese / Grandmaster The Glassway Solo 1360 Max Difficulty Platinum Rank / Grandmaster Destiny Nightfall Solo The Glassway / The Glassway Grandmaster Solo. Just a video of solo for the new Grandmaster Nightfall The Ordeal for this week in The Glassway. Details below.
I was originally going to leave this until the end of the season when there's nothing else left to do, but even though I already mentioned why I do cheese videos first on the other video, I still had a heap of comments complaining about using a cheese and not being able to do it without. So here it is.
The reason I do the cheese videos first is because they get the most views and interest. I've been doing solo challenges in Destiny for nearly 6 years now. I've done every single solo Nightfall, and every possible solo challenge at the relevant time. Over all this time, the videos that always get the most views are either showing a cheese spot, a guide, or showing glitch methods to get things done. If something is made easier, more people are interested. Not as many people are interested in doing some sort of challenge themselves, but if there's a way to make things smoother to get it done, more are interested. As a content creator, it makes much more sense to post what has proven to garner more interest. If anything is seen as particularly difficult, as always I go back and do it with no cheese. Just like right here and many other examples.
People have different priorities on what they want to do themselves, and what they want to see. That's entirely fine and everyone can do their own thing. But for me and posting content, it makes more sense to post what people have shown more interest in first, and then go back for anything that might seem challenging after.
There's also another topic I want to cover on while I'm here, and so people can refer back to this for my opinion on it all. I don't mind if people come to my videos and talk crap (as it's pretty fun to prove people wrong and it brings about videos like this one), but this more so applies to the opposite scenario of people are going to other people's video/streams and saying similar things about them copying me, me doing it first, or whatever else. The only people that seem to care, or tend to create some non-existent competition is other random people on the internet.
You'll notice that none of the solo challenge players have disrespect or negative competition between them. It's always random people in the comments stirring things up. It goes both ways, where people come here and say whatever, but worse they will go to other people's videos or streams and say similar things about them copying me or if I did it first. There's no need for it. I have no negative feelings towards anyone. If I see somebody else getting something done, I'm genuinely happy for them. I'm just doing my own things and posting my own videos. Any of the other solo players I've spoken to I've always been on good terms with.
It's nice to have the support of people, and it's nice seeing people support their favourite players. But it can be done in a positive way, and there's nothing to be gained by going to somebody else's videos and saying "X is better", as I see it happen all the time (both for, and against me).
=========================
As for this run itself, it actually felt safer doing it this way than with the cheese spot personally. The cheese spot took me three attempts, where all my wipes were at the boss and getting one hit through a small opening. This run however took me two attempts, and the first was getting sniped by the mini-boss at the Fallen Barriers. This was my first time doing the boss on a Hunter and I got the clear. It was a little slower than it should be because I was learning along the way, but not too bad I think. The safety of invis makes it easier to deal with everything, and as long as you know what spawns to expect you can handle them all safely.
