Dyneema is an ultra-high-density polyethylene that’s exceptionally strong—several times stronger than nylon or regular polyethylene—yet lightweight, making it ideal for research nets. Its unique molecular alignment provides durability, superior abrasion resistance, and excellent net geometry, enabling larger nets to be towed by smaller boats. Though costly, it offers unmatched strength and efficiency for practical applications.
