Описание: In Episode 9 of my Jaisalmer travel series, I take you to one of the most iconic and beautiful places in Rajasthan – Gadisar Lake – a place where history, spirituality, nature, birds, sunset, sunrise and culture come together in the most magical way.

Gadisar Lake is a man-made reservoir that was originally built in the 14th century by Maharaja Gadsi Singh to serve as the primary water source for the desert city of Jaisalmer. Because water is extremely precious in the Thar Desert, this lake has always been considered sacred and is surrounded by temples, ghats, and beautifully carved chhatris. Even today, locals believe the water of Gadisar Lake holds spiritual importance.

In this episode, I rent a pedal boat for ₹300 and head into the middle of the lake to experience complete peace, calm water, and thousands of birds flying around. Watching the sunset from inside the lake is something you simply cannot miss when you visit Jaisalmer. The golden sky reflecting on the water, the sound of birds, and the cool desert breeze made this the prettiest sunset I have ever witnessed in my life.

Gadisar Lake is also famous for both sunrise and sunset views, and trust me – if you are in Jaisalmer, you must experience at least one of them here. It’s one of the best photography spots in Rajasthan and perfect for reels, vlogs, cinematic shots, and travel photos.

After boating, I explore the colorful market outside Gadisar Lake where I find a beautiful Rajasthani traditional dress-up experience for ₹150. They provide full traditional outfit, jewellery, and even do a photoshoot. I also get my favorite photo printed as a souvenir. They have costume options for women, men, couples, and even babies – making it a fun cultural experience for everyone.

I also try street food like bhelpuri and explore local stalls selling handicrafts, jewellery, souvenirs, and Rajasthani items. The vibe of this area in the evening is absolutely magical.

To end the episode, I show you the light and water show at Gadisar Lake, which beautifully narrates the history and importance of Jaisalmer and the lake through visuals, music, and lights.
