Here are the three basic drive types:
1. Straight. This drive is super boring and only useful for winning money at tournaments and impressing your friends.
2. Early Release. A good option if you are playing with a potential father-in-law and are two strokes ahead going into the last hole. Use this technique a couple times, lose the match, win a wife.
3. Grip Lock. A timeless classic. This drive comes in really handy if you just had a double-bogey on the last hole, and want to ensure another double-bogey on this one. Also consider the Grip Lock for when you need to "accidentally" throw into that group that just cut across your fairway because they're too lazy to walk around.
