In this video, I’m pairing two classic KORG instruments from the 1990s:
the exclusive acoustic piano multisample from the 01/W Pro X (1991)
a motion pad from the Trinity (1995)
Before the performance, I take a quick look back at what was happening in 1991 and where KORG fit into that moment. The 01/W Pro X piano has always stood out to me as one of the most musical pianos KORG made in that era, even though it was the oldest. And the Trinity’s evolving pads still feel surprisingly modern almost 30 years later.
This is an improvised piece using just those two sounds, recorded live with no edits.
