She started playing with her mother in the streets or at the church during the 1920s but reach huge success during the 1940s playing for white audiences and has been considered pioner of rock and roll because of her influence on musicians like Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis Preslaey, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Eirc Clapton, Keith Richard, Jeff Beck, Pete Towsend and even today for rock stars like Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes - who also appears at the end of this video collection.
