Thoughts on the Dead Space Remake and The Callisto Protocol

The heavily rumored Dead Space Remake was unveiled, being worked on by EA Motive. I find it a bit of an odd move, as Dead Space still holds up really well, and a remaster would have been more than enough. Plus, EA put out Visceral Games to hang when they ran the original Dead Space series into the ground, so bringing it back with a new studio, EA Motive, is somewhat iffy.

But hey, Dead Space Remake is set to have no microtransactions! Plus watching the devs talk about it, they seem to have a good idea of where to take the Dead Space Remake.

Still, I'm much more curious about The Callisto Protocol from Striking Distance Studios, the upcoming release that's a spiritual successor to Dead Space, and being worked on by numerous Dead Space staff. This includes Glen Schofield, one of the executive producers of Dead Space, who will be directing the Callisto Protocol.

While we don't have a ton of information on either the Dead Space Remake or The Callisto Protcol so far, they're worth keeping an eye on, and seeing what comes of them.
