The Blue Eye is also referred to as the Springs of Bistricë due to its role as the primary water source for the Bistricë River. This river spans 25 km and flows into the Ionian Sea, south of Sarandë. The spring itself is located at an altitude of 152 meters and boasts an impressive discharge rate of 18,400 liters per second—an awe-inspiring testament to the power of nature.

A Protected Natural Monument

The Blue Eye and its surrounding area, covering about 1.8 km² (0.69 square miles), have been designated as a Nature Monument. The area is rich in oak and sycamore trees, adding to its charm and ecological significance.
