Finishing Video • Extruder Screw CNC Milling Step 2 Finishing
Very interesting and new type of part for me. Learned a lot on this cool screw. As you can see the customer supplied an old damaged screw without any print let alone a model. So step 1 was to reverse engineer the old screw and make a good model. Did all my modeling in Mastercam. The screw has an angle and took a bit of designing to get it right. Step 2 for this job was to run a black marker in the spindle to make shape was correct and in the right direction, much easier to erase the marker just in case instead of welding it. Step 3. Rough the shit out of it. Used a 1.0" cutter with a 1/8" corner radius. the tool performed great.
