The 39th episode of the Digital India Ask Our Experts series focused on the soon to be launched new Aadhaar app by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and how this will make life easier for Aadhaar number holders.
In this podcast session Sh Vivek C Verma, Deputy Director General of UIDAI, and Ms Tanusree Deb Barma, Deputy Director General of UIDAI explained that the new Aadhaar app is designed to simplify Aadhaar usage and will give people greater control over sharing of their personal information.
The new app, once dedicated to the nation, will reduce the need to carry physical Aadhaar cards or photocopies by enabling digital and offline verification.
Several features of the new App were discussed, including the QR code–based offline verification, Aadhaar update services, selective sharing of data, and managing multiple Aadhaar profiles in one app, among others.
