We Need Better Engineers!

Описание: We are at an exciting time in the design and construction profession! With increasing technology developments in AI/Machine learning, computational design and automation, we provide more and better technical information for projects than ever before. However, with that, we require a different skill set from engineers; one which the typical academic degree and subsequent PE exam does not currently provide. In this video, I provide a review of automation and its effect on the engineering profession, examples of current computational automation of engineering tasks, examples of AI/Machine Learning in engineering, and thoughts on where education and training for engineers should go from here.

Hi, I'm Paul Kassabian. I'm a structural engineer and a Principal at SGH in Boston, MA. Being a structural engineer is my fulltime job and I’ve also I taught full courses to graduate students at MIT for nine years, Harvard's Graduate School of Design (GSD) for five years and at RISD (Fall 2023).
