SISTO:DEVOUR

I wanted to do something more with my project project because 1, I have a story to tell about my personal mental health journey and wanted to do that by combining different artistic disciplines including graphics, costume, and story telling, and then very importantly 2, to be able to use that as the creative outlet in writing and producing the music.

While all art is a reflection of other art and experiences we're exposed to (thank you Midnight Tyrannosaurus, Svdden Death/Voyd, YVM3, and the other incredibly creative artists in and outside our space) I worked incredibly hard for 2 years to create something unique that people would enjoy... especially when they are able to see, hear, and understand the story... something that has not often been done.

I started writing this story in a way where I wanted SISTO:DEVOUR to be as authentic to me as possible. Before I release the full set on youtube and begin this journey. I want to give the meaning behind every aspect or character of this story and why it means so much to me.

This story is all a giant analogy for the demons we have in our head and mental health that we dont face. The idea of Lady Moth (the witch who hands me the elixir) is that she’s the voice/event in our life that finally forces us to face what we ignore.

The story begins as me in the original setting of the forest (The Thorn), Lady Moth tells me I have to consume the elixir or ill die because so many of us (myself included) in our society dont confront their problems and for so many leads to self harm or suicide.

When i consume the elixir and the world around me and myself transform. The new surrounding area I fall into is called The Root. It represents all of the different aspects of those feelings. Here I am also transformed into SISTO.

The following section/rest of set is all themed between 5 different emotions that were all tied into the 5 tracks from the DEVOUR EP. Destruction, anguish, hysteria, temptation, and denial.

The ending scene is SISTO saying he’s not here to kill me but that he will return. This is because our life itself has this vicious cycle within our mental health that we have to face over and over again. I then wake up in the forest as myself with the bottle full again…

This set is comprised of 100% original music (released/unreleased/remixes) all created by myself, minus 2 doubles (shoutout Vyle and Ramsay).

While all of the visual work was not completely polished to its fullest potential for this specific set. I’m still incredibly proud to present to you, SISTO:DEVOUR.
