Описание: Francesco Merli (1887-1976) was one of Italy's greatest dramatic tenors, particularly prominent during the 20's and 30's. His voice was very powerful and penetrating, and his declamations quite melodramatic. All these qualities combined to make him a perfect Otello, Rhadames or Andrea Chenier. This declamatory and melodramatic style is quite evident in this selection, which is very moving.
