Host Satie Gossett interviews Norman D. Golden II, best known for his breakout role as Devon Butler alongside Burt Reynolds in Cop and a Half. As a child actor, he appeared in acclaimed films such as There Are No Children Here with Oprah Winfrey, America’s Dream with Wesley Snipes, and the remake of Moby Dick starring Patrick Stewart and Gregory Peck.
After a successful early career, Norman stepped away from the spotlight to focus on his education, earning a BA in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Creative Writing from Antioch University Los Angeles. During his hiatus, Norman reinvented himself as a creativepreneur, writing, producing
and teaching screenwriting and filmmaking. In recent years, he produced the short documentary La Buena Muerte in partnership with Apple Inc. and Mobile Film Classroom, and created two Amazon Prime short films: Hollywood Kid, which he wrote, directed, and starred in, and Misperception, which he co-wrote, produced, and acted in. Now, Norman is merging his storytelling roots with innovation, expanding into the tech industry. With a passion for creative expression and emerging platforms, he continues to evolve—building at the intersection of media, technology, and culture.
