Government extends walking devices to PWDs under Koboko Yumbe Moyo road Project

YUMBE-A total of 18 Persons with Disabilities affected by the road project along Koboko-Yumbe-Moyo road have received free walking aids donated by Strategic Friends International (SFI) with support from the Ministry of Works and Transport were able to acquire the equipment.
The project aims to support over 3000 vulnerable persons and about 950 people were targeted for livelihood particularly the farmers whose gardens were equally affected.
Moses Chua, the Yumbe district Chief Administrative Officer explained that access to assistive technologies such as wheelchairs, white canes, crutches and many others remains a big challenge for the rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.
He added that the donation is aimed at ensuring all rehabilitative health care services are accessible for
Concerned persons such that it breaks barriers, foster inclusion and create lasting change for people with disabilities.
