Exploring in the heart of the Florida's beautiful swamps I discovered this old and large Cypress Tree. It is documented as Florida's 7th largest Cypress tree and is real gem to still see standing out here today. In the past much of Florida's old growth trees were cut down in the logging era. These Cypress Trees are hundreds and thousands of years old and unfortunately many of them are gone, except for this beauty standing strong. All throughout the state old trees and evidence from them can be still be seen if you look good enough, it's always a great adventure hiking in these woods. This area is located in Putnam County just off of the Florida Trail at Rice Creek Conservation Area a scenic wilderness to explore. When visiting this and other natural places like it please be respectful and leave these areas as you see them, leave no trace...Thank you and enjoy the adventure!
