Endometriosis (endo) is a complex chronic disease that is challenging to manage and live with. The symptoms can make everyday activities challenging, lead to missed school or work, and impact personal relationships, social life and mental health. It is considered one of the top 20 most painful diseases in the world. Seeking medical help can sometimes lead to dismissive responses like ‘it’s nothing’ or ‘it’s just your period’. On average, it can take up to 5 years before someone is diagnosed.
Our campaign messaging for The Endometriosis Network Canada (TENC) emphasized that living in pain from endometriosis is not normal.
