Описание: Walter is an active manual wheelchair developed to meet the needs of wheelchair riders in developing countries. It allows the user to temporarily translate the center of gravity forward which in turn prevents the rider to fall backwards when pushing the handrims to climb steep slopes. It is particularly beneficial for paraplegic users who are unable to stabilize their upper body using the abdominal muscles - but the functionality also facilitates the transfer procedure needed to enter or exit the chair without assistance. Walter is the result of a graduation project conducted by Erik Ohlson and Christian Bremer.
