Zoom R16 Digital Recorder - Demo ( full band ) - No Pants Subway Ride

Описание: We acquired a zoom R16 for this demo recording for reference before going into the studio and spending the big bucks. Really impressed with the outcome. So much into one little very portable package. 8 tracks of simultaneous recording 16 tracks of simultaneous playback.

There were no overhead mics on the drums because the recording was done at our practice space with all of us present and we didn't want any tracks bleeding into eachother. A SM57 knock off inst mic was used on the kick, AKG E604s for the toms and snare, Samson vocal mic on guitar 1, bottom of the line Octava 219 for guitar 2, and directly lined in keys and bass. So considering the circumstances (crappy sounding room and not the greatest mics) the end result wasn't half bad. Props to the Zoom R16. Tidy, versatile, and capable of decent quality sound.

The hiss at the front of the video is I believe due to the program I used to render the video, as it is not present on the Zoom R16. And I must add an apology for at least my performance, actually just mine. A couple of guitar goofs at the beginning. But as I had mentioned this was for demoing our material for better reference and additional writing.

The vocals are being tracked separately with the tracks imported onto a pc.
