Have you ever had trouble getting out of bed? Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius faced the same issue. In his personal diary, he wrote the following: “At dawn, when you have trouble getting out of bed, tell yourself: I have to go to work — as a human being. What do I have to complain of, if I’m going to do what I was born for? To huddle under the blankets and stay warm?“
Many will think they are more comfortable in bed than working. So you were born to feel “nice”? Don't you see how animals carry out their individual tasks, putting the world in order the best way they can? And you’re not willing to do your job as a human being?"
Some will argue: But we have to sleep at some point.
That's true, but nature placed a limit on that, just as it did with eating and drinking. And you have already had what you needed. You don’t love yourself enough. Or you’d love your nature too, and what it demands of you.
