Maruni is a popular dance form amongst the Nepali or the Gorkha community. It is basically performed during Diwali or as the community calls it- "Tihar" and is also predominent in many other occasions as well.
The dance form can be performed both by male and female. "NAUMATI BAJA" or the 9 types of typical Nepali instruments like Madal,Sanai, Khaijadi, Tyamko, Thulo Damah, Sano Damah, Narsingha are being used in these songs.
The enthusiastic Maruni dance is performed in a group which is an indispensable part of the vibrant Nepali community.
