BRITISH AIRWAYS A320neo BA1308 Economy Class, London Heathrow To Aberdeen, Avoid Seat 30F (4K)

Описание: After arriving at London Heathrow just after 5am from flights starting in Sydney, then Perth I had a 6hr+ wait till my next flight with British Airways to Aberdeen, Scotland.

When re-checking my bag, I asked about changing to one of the 2 earlier flights, which the agent said would be possible, but to do it in the lounge as there were 2 flights I could change to, and I did say I wanted to freshen up and have a shower first. (whenever buying a seperate ticket, like I did with my UK domestic flights, I always choose a flexible fare that can be changed on the day at no cost if seats are available).

Once that was done, and after a good ole Hot English Breakfast (minus the Black Pudding) I asked at the service desk, and was given a seat on the 10:10am BA1308 flight. And even better, as quoted "An exit, window seat... 30F" (not an exit row, which did not click until on the aircraft).

Time flew by and it was time to board... that is when the aviation gods were having a laugh at my expense. Row 30 on the A320-251neo has the least legroom of all rows, absolutely no window within cooee... and the exit... well it is behind the partition near the rear galley. 30F is a big NO from me...

The crew member just feet away even made a comment, asking what I did to deserve such a seat, especially as he knew I held OneWorld Emerald Status as he greeted me by name as I looked very puzzled about my allocated seat... thankfully they said the flight wasn't full, and once boarding was complete would move me to an over-wing window seat, which they did.

Public Service Announcement... DO NOT select Row 30 on this aircraft type, unless you are 5ft tall, weigh less than 80kg and intend on sleeping the entire flight.

Once airborne, the flight was quick, smooth, and some amazing views of the Green Scottish countryside approaching Aberdeen.
