Описание: The Rijksmuseum carried out extensive research and conservation on a rare 17th-century Dutch lacquered cabinet. A method was developed for removing the thick varnish that concealed the richness of the original decoration layers. Damaged areas in the black lacquer were retouched. In this video, conservator Elise Andersson talks about the restoration project, while senior curator Reinier Baarsen discusses the art-historical facets.
