A selection book called "New Old Timers" played on my 89-key G4 Gavioli & Cie FAIRGROUND ORGAN featuring hits from the late 1920s to early 1930s, arranged by Jan Kees de Ruijter:
1. My Blue Heaven
2. Cheek to Cheek
3. That's a Plenty
4. Me and My Shadow
5. Me and Jane in a Plane
6. I Only Have Eyes for You
The instrument plays today exactly as it would have done when it was built in 1905, using perforated cardboard read by an pneumatic action controlling air to the 400 pipes. There is also automatic percussion, and a 17 note glockenspiel.
This organ was installed in James Day's 3-abreast Gallopers in 1920, and was in showmans use with the ride until 1984. Previously owned by Chris Dobbs, I aquired the organ in April 2021, and look forward to touring steam fairs and special events across England and Wales in due course (please contact me if you are interested in hiring it for your event - [email protected])
