Ducklings rescued from sewer drain in Eastport Tuesday May 3, 2016.
Just before 4:00 p.m. authorities were notified of a family of ducklings stuck under a sewer grating in the Encore Atlantic Shores development on Encore Blvd. and Overture Place. Firefighters from the Eastport F.D. removed the grating and climbed down to rescue a total of eleven ducklings. Nine were saved, two ducklings died. Officers from the SCPD 7th Pct. and animal rescue activists also responded.
