Aysons Reserve offers:
Large open camping areas with river views
A boat ramp, swimming spots, fishing, and birdwatching
Flushing toilets (bring your own toilet paper)
A dump point and non-potable water

Fires are permitted when there is no fire ban

The campground is maintained by the Campaspe Shire Council and is free to stay for up to 3 days and 2 nights. Longer stays require a free online permit.

We also take a short trip into the nearby town of Rochester, a charming country town known for its heritage buildings, cafes, and colourful street art. Don’t miss the famous Rochester Silos, painted by renowned mural artist Jimmy D’Vate, along with the many murals scattered throughout the town’s laneways.

After exploring town, we head back to camp to cook up a simple and delicious meal by the river — the perfect way to end a relaxing free camping stay in country Victoria.
