My Little Pony: The Mighty Movie is a 2019 animated superhero musical fantasy film based on the animated television series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, which itself is part of the fourth incarnation of Hasbro's My Little Pony toyline and franchise. The sequel to the 2017 film My Little Pony: The Movie, it was directed by Brad Bird, who co-wrote the screenplay with David S. Goyer, from a story by David S. Goyer, Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan. The film stars the show's regular voice cast of Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain, Cathy Weseluck, Nicole Oliver, Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth, Michael Peña, Taye Diggs, Uzo Aduba and Zoe Saldaña. They are joined by an ensemble voice cast including Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Pam Brady, Justin Bieber, Halsey, Charli XCX, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Chloё Grace Moretz, Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Emma Thompson, will.i.am and Seth Green. The film was produced by 20th Century Fox Animation, Legendary Pictures, Hasbro's Allspark Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures, Syncopy, Atlas Entertainment, Cruel and Unusual Films, Inc., Silver Pictures and animated at DHX Media's DHX Studios Vancouver, using traditional animation created with Toon Boom Harmony. Pictures, in the UK/Ireland by Lionsgate, in the Australia/New Zealand by Roadshow Entertainment and in Canada by Entertainment One Films (which had Canadian rights to Lionsgate titles at the time).
