One morning, I was getting ready for the day, went to open this drawer, and the handle fell off, so that's just awesome! These aren't the standard, off the shelf pulls, they are flush mount style, found in the Dixie Campaigner furniture line from the 1970's. It set up a search, and quickly got a hit, so I made the purchase. A few days later, it's time to install. While I had the drawer out, I decided to go over it with some Restore A Finish, and it turned out ok. Certainly much better than it was. The replacement part is a perfect match, and looks like nothing ever happened.
I plan to revisit the original pull, to see if there is a good way to repair it. I'm sure there is more of this furniture out in the wild, and it's suffered the same failure.
