Stephen King's stories are some of the most adapted of any modern creative, but due to the often dark and taboo nature of his stories and the focus on intricate themes, these adaptations often fall flat when compared to the source material... that is, unless Mike Flanagan is the one handling the project, then it's all sunshine and flowers, as in the case of his brilliant 2017 adaptation of "Gerald's Game".
