Описание: 🌟 This month, the Funky Space Probe broadcasts from Vega, a bright star located just 25 light-years from Earth. It’s the fifth-brightest star in the night sky and one of the most studied stars after the Sun! Astronomers even use it as a reference to measure the brightness and color of other stars.

Vega has been known for thousands of years, and it appeared in ancient Chinese, Arabic, and Greek astronomy. It was the North Star around 12,000 BCE and will be again in the distant future. It also made history in 1850 as the first star ever photographed, marking a turning point in astronomy.

Vega may be surrounded by large belts of dust and asteroids, and possibly even planets! Some studies suggest the presence of at least one planet as large as Neptune, orbiting close to the star.

Whether Vega hosts planets or not, the Funky Space Probe makes a stop here this month, sending back a new transmission: a smooth selection of old disco gems and funky house, made to match the steady glow and timeless energy of this iconic star.

🛰️ After years of trying to find life in space, human beings are desperate. In a unanimous decision, they decided to send a probe across the universe to spread the best disco, funk, and house music – hoping that someone out there would hear it and make contact. Every month, a transmission reaches us, humans, delivering the mix the probe has crafted and broadcast from a location in the universe.
