The Break Up Song (They Don't Right em Like That Anymore)

Описание: Please enjoy this unedited raw footage from July 18th and 19th, 2025. While relatively accurate for chronological order, these clips document the Greg Kihn Fond Farewell experience from the Rock Quarry Chronicles crew that went to both events.

While the audience in attendance at both events were really family in the real and metaphorical sense, the individuals on stage were made up of past band mates and career partners. These performers collaborated to tell stories from different periods in Greg’s life (they liked to refer to these periods as clearly represented in “thirds”).

Ry Kihn (Greg’s son) played alongside his father in the band from 1996 until Greg’s passing in 2024. Ry now carries the torch for the family business and was very worthy as front man for the Farewell.

Robbie Dunbar (of Earthquake fame) was Greg’s early friend in the Bay Area and performed with him often at Cal Berkeley and other places (even appearing on Greg’s 1st album).

Larry Lynch was the drummer in the band from the beginning (1976) until leaving in 1986 to form his own band - Larry Lynch and the MOB (with Robbie by the way). As long-time friends themselves, both Larry and Robbie are now in a band called The Faves.

Greg Douglass (Guitar) joined the Greg Kihn band in 1982 and stayed through 1986. After recording Kihnspiracy, Kihntagious, and Citizen Kihn, Douglass left the group and toured with Tom Fogerty and Eddie Money. A lot of musical history here and a true artist.

Robert Berry is a multi instrumentalist and played in the Greg Kihn band from 1996 to 2024, but also known for his work with Hush, 3 with Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer, Ambrosia, Alliance, and Los Tres Gusanos. As of 2022 he is with progressive band Six By Six

Chris Jackson has been on KFOX 98.5 for nearly 35 years and is still going strong. Almost half of his time there was with his co-host, and friend Greg Kihn as his partner. Chris is a true storyteller and shared his stories of Greg with the audience.

A big thank you to Rudy Colombini and his top notch staff (including Christy the Event Manager) for hosting the Fond Farewell show to Greg Kihn. Rudy’s incredible musical vision created Music City in San Francisco. Special thanks also to David Martin for being the Rock Quarry crew ambassador of goodwill and chariot driving.
