Let's talk about the chords of the band Muse!

Their chord progressions are definitely memorable and are a big part of their style as a band. But how do you create signature chord progressions like Muse?

The short answer: use secondary dominant chords in first inversions.

I'm going to explain all of this and use some songs like ''Unnatural Selection'' and ''Butterflies and Hurricanes'' as examples.

(but there are many more examples: ''Space Dementia'' and pretty much all songs on the album ''The Resistance'' - one of my personal favorites - and many more. I'm sure you will recognize this sound instantly).
