Strabismus involves misalignment of the eyes while coloboma involves missing tissue from part of the eye that occurs during development.
Both conditions were brought to light with Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik and his performance and medal win this past summer at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France. Nedoroscik is now competing on Dancing With the Stars.
