Starship flight 10 lifted off on August 26 2025 and it might have been the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. It started as any other starship flight with all 33 raptor rocket engines on the super heavy booster lighting and the full stack lifting off towards space. Stage separation went perfectly; the booster did its flip maneuver and headed towards the gulf. Here it did some engine-out and hover tests, before shutting off its engines at catch height and falling towards the ocean, resulting in a big explosion. Now to the fun stuff. Starship luckily reached SECO, and while in space, for the first time ever, the rocket successfully opened the payload bay door and deployed eight dummy Starlink satellites. Following this the rocket did an in-space Raptor relight demo which worked fine, and then it reached the earth’s atmosphere. And wow, this was scary. During reentry both aft flaps started losing bigger and bigger chunks of material, and at one point in the engine bay, we could see a kind of explosion which was… terrifying. After stress testing the aft flaps lower in the atmosphere, they somehow managed to hang on, and a couple of minutes later, Starship performed its flip and landing maneuver. And wow, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw an almost completely ORANGE starship landing, on target, in the Indian ocean. This flight was awesome, and I cannot wait for flight 11.
