The Cougar brought a balanced approach. It was at home in the city, but it was also quite happy hooning around a track. It was not perfect, however, as anti-lock brakes were optional, even on the more expensive V6. The other issue was the inability to use the parking brake when the cup holder was in use. My comments on the subject irked the then PR manager. That aside, the Cougar was a fun drive, and, arguably, a better car than the Probe.
