Before Olympus ruled the heavens, one monster rose to tear it all down. Typhon—the final son of Gaia—wasn’t just another beast of myth. He was a storm of chaos, a force of vengeance born to end the age of gods. And for a moment, he succeeded.
With a hundred serpentine heads, wings that blotted out the sun, and fire in his breath, Typhon made even the mighty Zeus tremble. As he ascended Mount Olympus, the gods fled. Zeus stood alone—and paid the price. Torn down, his sinews ripped from his body, he was imprisoned in a dark cave while Typhon raged across the world.
But this was not the end. Hermes, the trickster and savior, stole back Zeus’s strength. With a thunderbolt forged in desperation, Zeus returned and hurled Typhon beneath Mount Etna. The skies cleared—but the threat was never truly gone. Some say Typhon still stirs, his rage echoing beneath the earth.
