𝗘𝗡𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡: LAPD Orders Unhoused to Leave Venice Public Parking Lot

Описание: VENICE, CA — Saturday, January 3, 2026 — Santa Monica Closeup documented a law-enforcement presence Saturday afternoon at the public parking lot at 301 S. Main Street near Rose Avenue, where Los Angeles Police Department officers asked unhoused individuals to leave the area.

At approximately 12:28 p.m., officers were observed standing in the rain while several unhoused individuals packed their belongings and moved out of the parking lot. Unlike three prior operations earlier in the week — which involved sanitation and cleanup crews — Saturday’s activity consisted solely of enforcement. No sanitation crews or cleanup operations were observed on site.

Most individuals complied and cleared the area. One man with a large tent remained and was observed actively packing his belongings while officers stood by. Before the man had fully cleared the site, officers received another call for service and left the location while the individual was still in the process of packing.

Santa Monica Closeup returned to the site several hours later, at approximately 4:00 p.m., and observed that the man and his encampment were still present in the parking lot. Light rain continued throughout the afternoon.

No arrests or citations were observed during the enforcement action.

Santa Monica Closeup continues to document public-space enforcement, homelessness outreach, and city operations across the Westside.
